Each year, Real Estate Weekly has highlighted women in real estate through a special issue of its weekly publication. In 2012, this issue comes to life in a real-world event, bringing the best and the brightest together in person.

Morning Keynote:

Leslie HimmelLeslie Himmel, Managing Partner, Himmel + Meringoff Properties

A Managing Partner of Himmel + Meringoff Properties since 1985, Leslie has been recognized as the highest ranking female landlord in New York’s commercial real estate marketplace. Together with partner Stephen Meringoff, they control and own a commercial property portfolio comprised of over two million square feet and valued at more than $500 million. Focused on the acquisition, disposition and financing of buildings that are suited for renovation and strategic re-positioning, Ms. Himmel’s expertise is in creating legal, tax and financial structures and in negotiating complicated transactions expeditiously. Ms. Himmel will present the Forum’s morning address.

MaryAnne GilmartinMaryAnne Gilmartin, EVP, Forest City Ratner

MaryAnne Gilmartin is in charge of Forest City’s Commercial & Residential Development in New York. Throughout her 17 years at Forest City, Ms. Gilmartin has played a key role in the creation of civic public/private development projects in the city. Ms. Gilmartin oversees the company’s most visible and prestigious projects: The Barclays Center — the future home of the NBA Nets franchise — the feature component of the 8 million square foot Frank Gehry-master plan for the Atlantic Yards redevelopment project. Ms. Gilmartin also manages the MetroTech office portfolio in Brooklyn, which consists of 6.7 million square feet of Class A office space.
